Canadian attorney Brian Ludmer will be a featured speaker at the upcoming 7th International Conference on Shared Parenting (ICSP) and the 10th Equal Parenting International Conference (APIPDF), both taking place December 3–6, 2025, in Lisbon, Portugal. The ICSP has been organized by the International Council on Shared Parenting (ICSP) and will take place at the University of Lisbon Law School, while the APIPDF has been organized by the Portuguese Equal Parenting and Children’s Rights Association and will take place at the University Institute of Lisbon.

The joint conferences will operate under the theme Shared Parenting in Practice: Challenges and Opportunities, and bring together a wide array of international experts in the fields of law, social services, academia, and civil society. Attendees will be treated to presentations on important new research, as well as in-depth explorations of practical strategies and advocacy approaches designed to improve outcomes for children and families navigating separation and divorce. The conference programming is suitable for professionals, advocates, and even interested parents, and a full livestream will be available for those who wish to participate remotely.

Brian Ludmer is the founder and lead attorney of the legal firm Ludmer Law in Toronto, Ontario, in Canada. Ludmer Law is a proud sponsor of the event.

In his presentation, Brian Ludmer will share insights drawn from his more than three decades of experience in high-conflict custody cases, parental alienation disputes, and complex family law matters. In addition to his legal practice, Ludmer is a co-author of The High Conflict Custody Battle and a co-founder of Lawyers for Shared Parenting, a professional advocacy group that advocates for fairness in custody disputes. Over the course of his career, he has played an important role in advancing family law reforms both in Canadian courts and through legislative efforts, with the latter exemplified by his contributions in drafting Bill C-560, which proposed a presumption of equal shared parenting in all custody cases across Canada.
